When I first did my lift I just bought a random extended rear sway link setup to make something work for the time being.

However now as I want to make sure I am dialed in properly, what are the important bits to know with setting up rear sway links? Is it similar to the front? Does it matter (within reason)?

If they need to be adjustable, are set ups such as the JKS adjustables or some heim joints from a hardware store and threaded rods good options?

Ideally the end (arms) of the sway bar should be parallel to the chassis. Reality will dictate that is not always able to be achieved.

Is that at ridge height or closer to mid travel like the front?

Depends on you travel split you have. As with the front you do not want the ends to be able to cam over at full droop.
