As you say for the price, they will be better than what I have. If they do not work well, I can keep the cable and frame and throw the speakers away. I really like having the tweeter with the speaker. I have them ordered but no delivery date. I saw the DB 522 Polk speakers but do not want to do any carving behind the dash at the moment.
Thanks.Save yourself the hassle and spend the extra money up front and get a decent set of speakers to start with. For not that much more than this set, you can get MUCH better speakers and you won't end up spending more by buying twice and installing them twice. I speak from experience. Polk makes some good 4X6 speakers. You WILL need those adapters either way you go.
Can I assume from your recommendation that the factory radios are 4 ohm output? There is no carving at all, literally notiing. If you are using your stock head unit go with the Kicker 5.25" KS series from Crutchfield and it comes with free mounting brackets. Heck if you find the Kickers anywhere else for less, I have an extra set of mounting brackets that you can have for free.
Avoid the Polks and go with Kicker, cheaper and better. Hifonics are a gimmicky company, I would not even waste money on that stuff. You can get a similar speaker for $20.
