I have a high idle ( roughly 1000-1200 rpm) after cleaning throttle body and IAC valve. Before cleaning, it would hardly even idle. I also disconnected the battery to let the computer reset. Can't get the idle to go down now. Also, it now grinds when going into reverse. Is this because of the higher rpms? Any help would be appreciated.

The idle issue sounds like a vacuum leak.

The grinding going into reverse could indeed be due to the higher idle, yes.

Since you removed the TB from the intake manifold; I would verify that there is no debris between the TB, gasket and intake manifold along with the nuts being tightened equally.
You cleaned the IAC; did you clean both the IAC disc and the seat inside the TB and verify the solenoid extends and retracts properly ?

As far as I know, yes. I pulled down the plastic sleeve on the sensor and cleaned down the track as well. There was no debris between the gasket and tb.
