Hood Alignment Issues

Hey all!

I got my TJ a couple months ago and so far i have no complaints.... well there is one. I just noticed a few days ago that the hood and the grille do not line up. It’s a small thing but now I can’t stop thinking about it. There’s a small gap between the hood and the grill on the drive side. The passenger side hood is super tight to the grille causing it to rub. The previous owner installed these tube fenders on the Jeep so that could be why but does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Well now you know your really a Jeep owner when you start questioning stuff the factory put out. Looks just like my alignment and many others.

there was a older thread called..grill miss alignment..or something simulair..
i believe it has something to do with losing the strut bolt/fenders but also in the cowl..

maybe you can search on the forum..

Not something I'd worry about, but you'd start by finding all the bolts that hold the hood in place and loosening them. Then tweak it until this guy approves.

Loosen every bolt holding the fenders, grille and hood in place. Push, pull and shove on everything until it's where it looks best. If it ever gets there, tighten up all those bolts and never look at it again.

There are rubber bumpers attached to the hood on each side. When closed they rest on the grill. Do you have two of them or just one on the drivers side?

I would load it on a flat bed send it to this guy and you should be fine when you get back the hood will line up much better.
