WOW! That's a whole different level, for sure! I need to check and see if you have a build thread. Would love to read up on your project. Sounds hardcore!

Nathan, here are a couple of photos of your axles. Still waiting for the dynatracs to ship but they are ready to come out

I am holding them for you. Just showing you photos of them. Thought you might want to see them.

I was just saying they will be coming out when the dynatracs get here but I am still holding them for you.

I apologize I misunderstood. I thought you meant they were Nathan’s axles. Wouldn’t have been disappointed just was confused. Sorry about that.

I think I’m obsessing myself too much over wanting a rear 44, I just keep reading shit things about the Dana 35. I’m running 31.5s on mine and wheeling once every like 3 weeks but I still find myself worrying about it. It’s gonna be a future upgrade because I want 33s so bad but I’m not ready yet, hopefully not too far away

Just find an early Dana 35 that was built without c-clips. So when the axle does break it doesnt cause the whole wheel and axle to work its self out...this issue is the biggest issue with the late c-clip Dana 35’s IMO.

Just my .02

Ok, question here on buying Dana 44s: Does it matter if it comes from another TJ or could you get one from any other type of vehicle running it? I ask because when I look on Craigslist, I see plenty selling for less than $500, but they're all from either JKs, or other older Jeeps.

Example of a pair being sold for $450: https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/pts/d/dana-44-front-and-rear-axles/6675524707.html
Artec offers a JK Dana 44 to TJ swap brackets ready to burn in and bolt in. The Dana 44 in the JK’s are second generation Dana 44 using bigger ring and pinions and set 80 bearings on the ends.

Earlier Dana 44s can be found even cheaper. Friday I purchased a Wagoneer 44 for $100 complete drum to drum.

What happened to you holding them for me. Maybe I’m missing something?

Thanks for showing me the pictures yesterday. Do you think you could check if you have any more pictures of the rear 44 sometime? Also have you ever got a chance to look inside and look at the gears?
