How the hell do I stop snoring?

Flonase will definitely help with your allergies but has some extremely negative side affects. It is a corticosteroid and causes, among other things, sleep disruption. Totally not worth it. DO NOT USE FLONASE. DO NOT USE FLONASE.

I don't recall trying Flonase but I had extremely good results with my allergies when I was using another nasal corticosteroid, Nasonex. I used it as sparingly as possible, like once every 3-5 days just to keep the misery at bay through ragweed season, but after using it through September and October for 2-3 years I learned about long term side effects like glaucoma and cataracts and I won't touch it again.

Is Nasacort a different name for the same thing? It's very effective helping me fight allergy stuff in the summer months.

I think its the same thing. Look up corticosteroid side effects and REALLY research. Most "health" websites are supported by pharma companies either directly or through advertising. They touch on the side effects without really explaining the seriousness. Find a source that REALLY explains it. It might even include reading a negative review on Amazon (that's what got me researching Flonase). I stopped using Flonase and immediately experienced WAY BETTER sleep, WAY BETTER energy, and WAY BETTER mood.

Oh, and don't trust your doctor. I had two doctors (allergist and sleep specialist) tell me to take Flonase without telling me ANYTHING about the side affects. One of them even told me to take as much as I want. "If its not working, take more", she said.

I lost all trust in doctors and pharmaceuticals when I ended up with chronic tinnitus after a doctor "prescribed" 800mg doses of ibuprofen for lower back pain/spasms. I saw an audiologist who found nothing wrong, even performed as expected in a hearing test. Getting to sleep at night was tough for about 3 years, needing some sort of white noise machine within a foot of my head or a TV running loud enough to drown out the ringing. I suspected the ibuprofen and even saw some rumblings about ototoxicity on the internet, but it didn't become credible for me until I saw a pamphlet on it sitting in an ENT waiting room for my son. Apparently ENT's know about it, but general physicians think it's ok to take like it's candy.

It's been 12 years now and I'm mostly used to it, but it'll still get cranked up enough to give me sleep trouble for a week or two if I use a power tool or go to a concert without using ear protection, or take even one normal OTC dose of an NSAID like ibuprofen, aspirin, etc.

I'll still go to a doctor when necessary, but I'm skeptical of everything they tell me until I can confirm it.
