What Jeff Said. The only caveat is I used Raptor Liner aerosol, (got it from Autozone of all places), and painted mine, and I really like the textured finish.take them off completly clean them reaaaaaal good with some acetone like 99% acetone. then get ya some really good trim spray paint and paint it up. what ever color or tint you like. i always go flat but you can get crazy and even clear coat would look good with that red
Honestly I don't know what is on those fender flares. I think they came from the front tires throwing something on them before I purchased them. Whatever it is you can scrape it off and it leaves a faded under side. It doesn't come completely off. What color would be suggested if I wanted to do a one can job for both of them? Preferably something from Lowes.Prep is key. Dont waste your time painting. Unless you sand them with grey autobody scotchbrite pads, dawn dish detergent, acetone, adhesion promoter and then good paint. Follow the directions on the cans too. Dont let it sit overnight.
By the looks of them they've been faded then painted then flaking off. I would strip all that paint off. It does not look like a solid base to paint over.
Sem landau black is the best color match. But anything black will do.Honestly I don't know what is on those fender flares. Satin black for flares. Heard good things about krylon. But never used it.What kind of paint that I can grab from Lowes would be recommended? Just a regular old matte finish black brand name can?
