Ok I have a chance to get either a HP44 Front/9" Rear combo with 4.88s, Yukon grizzly front 4340 axles, detroit rear or a set of Stock TJ/LJ Rubicon 44 axles. With the HP44/9 I'm at the gear ratio I was going to do anyway and the only thing missing is hubs. I am capable of welding in the trusses and mounts for the 44/9 combo and I already have a set of 5x5.5" wheels. Which route would you take and why?

I know the stock Rubicon 44s share alot of the dana 30 weaknesses.

I'm leaning more towards the 44/9 combo bc it is a 5" wider than stock to give some stability and heavier duty front axle housing and I can truss/brace the rear to make it super strong as well.

Hmm, interesting. The Rubi diffs bolt in, the 44/9 combo will take work to install, new wheels, etc. Depends on whether or not you want to some some fairly significant mods or bolt in and go.

I did an axle swap for Rubicon axles because it was plug and play and gave me a front and rear locker. Also, I do not have any welding skills so it was the best option for me.

What do you plan to do with the jeep?
