I Discovered an Old Jeep

Greetings, friends!
I was driving through a neighborhood in Beaumont, Texas this morning in order to avoid traffic on the main roads when I spotted this project in someone’s driveway. I didn’t have time to stop & knock on the door to ask about it (something I may do at a later date), but my guess is that it’s probably an old CJ-6 being built as an M-38 or Willys MB military replica.
Your thoughts?

If the passenger opening is extraordinarily wide, then it's a M170 ambulance. But the passenger seat suggests CJ6. Cool project though.

I’ll have to get another peek soon so I can check out that passenger side opening.
