I was able to get the front skyjacker Platinum Shocks in to match the rears that @Dave K. did last week when my elcheapo Shocks had seen its better days .
I was able to do almost all of it by myself except for tightening a couple screws and then torquing two of them. It was a struggle, but I feel good about doing it myself.

I took the filter out after dave pointed out that there was a hole cut in the box so I didn’t need to remove it. Rookie move 1 of 100.

Dave let me use his new tools until he heard me “scuffing them up”. He then brought his old tools up from the basement for me to use them. It was nice while it lasted except the little switch kept switching anytime I bumped it.

I lied when I said the bolts weren’t rusted. Two were. My kroil worked like a charm!

Thank god dave has muscles to get these shocks pushed down and then swiftly installed in the space they needed to go. He did it after several attempts.

We wore Our shop dog out with all the jeep work today. He was actually bored from waiting for his walk . Yes I know We have the nice garage , why am I on the gravel. Well daves plow jeep was being repaired amd couldn’t be moved and the other stalls are filled already . That’s ok. The weather was great today. We are going to take it for a test ride and see how stiff these babies are.

Is that all the up travel you have?? Those shocks appear, from that pic angle, to be way too long for your lift.

I think so. They came off a jeep that had a 4inch lift and mine only has a three inch lift , maybe a bit less . These are just holding me over until I decide what I’m doing with my jeep. I couldn’t drive it with the old shocks, and didn’t want to not drive it now that the weather is getting g nice, but wasn’t ready to invest any money. So we used what we had on hand. I also have stock rubicon shocks I could put in, but those would be too little I believe.
