Ignition key stuck after shift cable came off

Good Afternoon,

I know there are some threads on this, but I could not find an answer. Maybe I am not searching enough. My shift cable came off from the transmission (4-speed Auto). Until I get it fixed, I zip-tied the cable back to the transmission, and I am able to shift gears. My problem, however, is that now the ignition key will not come out. I can start and stop the engine and shift just fine. The key is the only problem.

Cut the cable tie and have someone push and pull the cable at the transmission while someone applies a little pulling pressure on the key.
