New to the wrangler world, last jeep I had was 30 years ago and was a 65 j2000 that was lifted 6" with 38's and 454 bored out. So this is all new to me but learning a lot.
Found this 1997 Sahara sport TJ last month and jump on it.
In the short month of ownership I've become officially obsessed and can officially say I'll be our Wrangler owner for the rest of my days.
The TJ quickly took over the garage kicking out the wife's Acura TLX.
TJ mod list as it sat when I bought it:
-RE 4.5" Long arm lift
-37" tires pro comp
-17" Raceline beadlocks
-Atlas 2 Transfer Case.
-G2 axles - Dana 30 front/44 rear
-4:88 gears
-ARB lockers
-ARB compressor in engine bay
-Skid plates front to rear
-Ruffstuff Y-link steering with 1 ton ends
-New balljoints and wheel bearings
-RuffStuff Dana 30 Differential Cover/Steering Stabilizer Relocation
-Full front end rebuild
-Black Magic front brakes and rotors
-Banks CARB legal header
-Jeepcable. Com and Optima yellow top
-Rockhard 4x4 bolt in cage
-Rock sliders
-Hand throttle
-Hardtop, soft top, full and half doors
-Smittybilt winch with synthetic line
-Rigid offroad light
The plan is to eventually upgrade the front dana 30 or
replace both axles with tons and re-gear a little lower then the current 4.88's. In the meantime I'll be dropping down to 35's from these 37's, which will need replacing anyways soon, to take a little stress off the front end/axle since this will be a Rubicon Trail rig which is 45 minutes north of me.
I can't leave anything alone, my current F150 I've done all kinds of stuff to as well as all my toys, so I'm sure there will be some changes to post sooner than later for this TJ.
