Hello all. I have a 97 TJ with 33” tires and a 3 inch body lift. I believe the suspension is all stock

As of right now I am in need of new shocks but eventually want to end up with about a 2” suspension lift. Ideally I’d like to piece it together over time.

I am interested in the Rancho RS5000x and am wondering what else I will need immediately to make these work with stock springs.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

The shocks are sold for certain ride heights. I have the Ranchos and really like them. I think what you are looking for would be the ones for 0-2" of lift. These would be able to be used with the 2" lift springs when you buy them.

Two other non-related things: One, the 3" body lift will generally be frowned upon around here and two, my wife is originally from Toledo

Thank you for your feed back and honesty. It had the body lift when I bought it last year and looked into having it removed. As I was told by my local Jeep specialist “you are better off not removing it”!

And hello from Toledo to you and your wife.

Did he give you a reason that you would be better off not removing it? I assume because of the 33" tires, but I would order the Rancho shocks, lift springs, and a solid puck 1" BL all at the same time. that should fit the 33's. If you have a socket set and jack stands, that could easily be done on a Saturday or Sunday with some friends and a few beers.

Just tell the wife it's an early Christmas present from Santa.
