Installing frame tie-ins for Smittybuilt XRC bumper

Need some help from those of you who have installed the Smittybuilt rear bumper. Ok, so I got my bumper installed, I installed the frame tie-ins, but it seems like they have two sets of them? I have never seen pics of anyone installing both of these. Also, they make it seem like you only need to drill if you have a YJ, well, I have an LJ, and I would also need to drill for the second set of brackets. Do you guys think the second set are really needed? (Step 8, and the brackets pictured on the right are the ones I am questioning)

When I put in my current bumper, and a previous Smitty, I had to drill the inside holes, shown below:

Then I put on these corner tie-in brackets:

If you used the eight rear mounting holes/bolts, and the corner tie-in brackets, that is all you need. Not sure why those are provided, but your Smitty bumper is different...got a photo of these extra brackets?

Ya, I drilled the 4 inner holes also, so those are done, along with the first set of tie-ins. Here's what the second tie-in looks like. Looks like complete overkill to me.

Unless you feel like drilling another set of holes in your frame, I agree.

What size is your body lift?

I've only ever used the corner tie-ins and have never had an issue.

when you buy tie in brackets for a tj from other manufactures you just get the ones like you've already installed. That's what I did (except I made mine)

Only thing the second set looks like it would do, is stiffen up the corners of the bumper more. Sounds good, but also might cause more chance to tweak the frame in a minor accident?
