About a month ago I had my cracked exhaust manifold replaced by a local shop. Obviously intake manifold had to come off as well, and they put everything back together with a new gasket. Then a few weeks later, I started getting this very loud whistle/squeal noise when at idle power after driving for about 5-10 minutes (engine just getting up to operating temp). Revving the engine makes it go away, but letting off, it comes right back. It'll do that for 5 minutes or so, then go away. I can't pinpoint where exactly it's coming from to save my life, I just ran it around the neighborhood until it started doing it, and spent 10 unsuccessful minutes with a mechanics stethoscope.
Also, it might be unrelated, but around the same time, I started getting a P1494 code. I figured it was some kind of vacuum leak responsible for both issues, found a few cracked vacuum hose boots, replaced them, and I still have both issues. Might just be a coincidence, though, maybe my leak detection pump just failed at the same time.
Any ideas?
