Is it possible to fix broken bolt on starter?

Hey guys,

Before jumping into a purchase, I was wondering if it was possible to fix/replace a broken bolt on the starter. On the back end with the double threaded stud, the thread that has the nut holding the ground wire snapped as I was tightening it. Is it possible to remove the threaded end, and just replacement it? or possibly even tack weld it?

I'd take the starter off and use some vice grips to remove the other end of the bolt (assuming it's the threaded portion) that's still stuck in the hole. After that, I would just buy a new bolt to put in there in it's place. Most local hardware stores should have the right bolt.
