Is my LED headlight upside down?

3 1/8 hole, then you notch the hole to match the ribs on the lights. On the lights, At the front of the rib you make a notch.
To install, Align the light/ribs to the hole, and then quarter turn and it will stay.

Most YT videos have the larger of the lenses at the bottom like the orientation you have in your pic.

That'll work better than my idea. I was going to just use a hose clamp around the body of the light to keep it from backing out of the hole.
Think I'll just hook up the LEDs as marker lights only. I don't have inspections to worry about.

Are you serious? Your location says Mt Laguna, CA. I'm not sure how smaller localities do things but I can't believe CA isn't forcing things to be done however they feel they should be done.

As for putting lights in the grille jmr17320 has it right. I ended up with a couple of notches in the plastic ribs being too wide but all I did to fix that was thicken the grille sheet metal with some JB Weld.

I'm actually a work camper, living full time in a motor home. My technical "home state" is Arkansas.
It happens that the jobs I take are in Cali. I was a Cali resident from the time I was in 3rd grade until the mid-90's when I moved the family to Arkansas. They're all grown now and on their own, and so am I so I chose a path which allows me to live in Cali without being subject to a lot of the silly Cali rules.

My TJ had el-cheapo chinese LEDs on it when I purchased it, 'til earlier this year when I got fed up with other drivers flashing me for having my high beams on (when they weren't). Ordered a set of KC Gravity LEDs and I get nice clean light where it should be.

Problem with those chinese lights is that you might have a nice field of view but you're blinding everyone else.
