Is There A Difference Between AMC 35 and Dana 35?

I'm ready to install my axles and new carrier into my Dana 35 and I'm seeing shim and bearing kits for AMC 35 and for Dana 35.

I couldn't find a lot of detail but it appears that they may be the same axle?

Anyone know for sure?

There are differences in older AMC/Dana 35 axles without c-clips and the newer Dana 35 axles (used since around 1990-91 that use c-clips. Some parts listings are tough to decipher since sometimes they're put together by someone who doesn't know enough to be entirely accurate.

If you can post links to the parts you're looking at we can probably help to figure it out.

HERE is the shim kit.

And HERE are the carrier bearings.

And HERE are the races for the bearings.

Edit: I also found THIS kit on Amazon but it's quite a bit more expensive.

Anything I'm forgetting?

If you told Rock Auto you have a 2000 TJ they will be correct for your model Dana 35.
