I thought I got a great deal at 18K, I can easily get into the 50’s and that’s just parts.

I wanted an LJ badly when they first came out, but wasn't able to afford one at the time. It's so awesome to see people here that bought their TJ/LJ new and still have it. Kudos to you!
My point is most every mod has at least 2 zeros behind it the big ones have 3 so 50k is an easy number to hit even doing your own work. You can't put a price on saying saying "I built it". My wife constantly says if you add up all the time, you've spent way more on the Jeep. My response to her is, if I paid someone to do it, I'd spend even more. And, I'd have a Jeep with crappy workmanship. Plus, when I do it there is nobody to blame but me!
I fully understand the pride of workmanship thing and you can definitely be proud of your latest build, in fact your previous two were pretty nice as well. Time is relative, if you consider it as therapy look how much you saved not going to a therapist.You can't put a price on saying saying "I built it". I have also deleted my spreadsheet long ago, since it only brought me anxiety. I would end up spend not only on the Jeep but on a therapist also.
The insurance thread led me to talk to my agent, who said to keep receipts. So I just gathered them all up in a folder. I could have left it at that. But instead I typed it into Excel. And then I highlighted the column so it would show the total.

A long time ago, I did a complete nut and bolt restoration of my Harley Shovelhead. I decided to track what I'd spent. That taught me to never add up all the receipts...ever.
As far as wives, my wife had her own Jeep and her own Harley. She understood the need for parts.
