Jeep is celebrating 75 years of production since it was origionally designed and engineered to replace the horse for the U.S. military. We here on this site thanks to Chris and some others have a great place to gather. I have been enjoying fellowship with you Jeeepers for some time now but I have been wondering if anyone knows the actual official first production date of the first Jeep to rolloff the assembly line for the general public. Happy 75 years, Jeep !!!!

Heres a photo of my Uncle in Europe with one of those first Jeeps back when ALL Jeeps were government issued.

I don't know the official date, but it's very cool that Jeep has the heritage it does. I can't imagine myself owning anything different!

Apparently, late November 1941 the standardized 1/4ton Willys-overland MB rolled off the assembly line with a 9 (nine) + slot grille later changed by Ford.
