Hey guys I have 2 questions. My first is regarding my over drive. I’m running 32 with 3.73s and when I’m at 60 my rpms are 1900 with it on. When I turn it off I run about 2700-2900. Will having it off improve my gas mileage?

My next question is if there is any such thing a “quiet” soft top?

Not really. During the winters where I'm originally from I would turn off OD just to make sure I didn't have the 1000rpm jump, first winter almost went into a ditch because of it. If I'm remembering pre regear correctly I was at about 1500-1750 in OD and about 2250-2500 in 3rd at 55mph
I'd have to go and double check my records but I would say that in Northern Illinois winters when jumping between 2H and 4H at up to 55mph I probably averaged about 11-13MPG with 33s and 3.73s using no OD.

The only way you can really improve your mileage on one of these things is to coast....a long long way. Like to Canada.

It will make it perform better and most everybody here that wants better performance turns it off every time they get in the vehicle.
