Jeep skipping when accelerating

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler sport. About 2 weeks ago my jeep started to have problems accelerating. I get to 2500 rpms when it skips. The check engine light reads as a cam position sensor so I replaced that once that didn't solve it, I replaced the crankshaft sensor, battery, spark plugs. After that I ran smooth for about 20 miles then started up again. Anyone know how I should proceed or had this problem before? Thanks.

When you say "it skips" what happens exactly?
Does your engine die momentarily while driving, but then come back to life again?
Also what brand sensors did you use on both of those Crank and Cam sensors?

For the skipping it feels like it dies momentarily then comes back to life, but it won't go over 2500 rpms and continues to do that multiple times. I used OEM parts for them also it takes about 5-10 seconds for it to turn over and actually start up. Don't know if that helps

It’s in limp mode. What code are you getting?

Is there a check engine light? If so, scan it and tell us what the code is. That will help tremendously.

I've experienced the same thing before (not sure about the 2500 rpm's thing), but momentarily stalling while driving and starting up again. I did replace my Camshaft & Crankshaft sensors and I also replaced the Fuel Pump. Might look into that as a possibility, I know there is a gauge you can get to see what your fuel pressure is and if its within range.

P0340(M) No Cam Signal At PCM No fuel sync

What year is your TJ btw?

But you'll wanna check your fuel pressure prior to buying a fuel pump with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006V2BI2/?tag=wranglerorg-20 (there are threads here about how to check your pressure and what range it should be in). Not that difficult at all, just a little process. I also think you can loan these from some auto parts stores.

I had a similar issue, mine turned out to be a vacuum leak from the MAP sensor to the intake manifold. Take a look at the line. You'll have to remove the sensor to see it.

Also check the wiring on the harness side of the cam sensor. Sounds like it may be losing connection.

And finally, try swapping your ASD relay with your horn relay and see if that does anything. It was also one of my other issues, but possibly unrelated.
