Jeep Stuck in 4WD

I have a 2004 TJ with the N231transfer case. We took the transfer case out of the Jeep to fix a leak and separated the cases etc. But when I put it all back together and on the Jeep and took it for a test drive.. it seemed to get stuck in 4 High. I could tell when I took a sharp turn and the tires started gripping in the front and pulling funny. Idk if it has anything to do with my level positioning on the shift linkage like do I have it in the right position idk. Any ideas?

Crawl underneath and adjust the linkage before doing anything else. It's worth the 5 minutes of your time to see if that's the problem.

You can disconned and manually shift vis a screwdriver and some leverage also. I did it that when adjusting my shift cable.
