Jeep tj idling weird

Quick question guys. I have a 2003 tj automatic inline 6. When I’m decelerating getting close to a red light, the Jeep jerks and the rpms go up and down, feels like when it’s down shifting into first gear... any way to diagnose or fix this? I’ve heard cleaning the IAC. Not sure though.

Could be carbon build up or iac pull the air in take hose and look in the throttle body for built up. Mop at combustion chamber cleaner works pretty good

Are there any codes stored in the PCM or TCM? Does the check engine light illuminate?

I’m looking forward to this thread. Mine is doing the same intermittently. I do have CEL’s but I’ll wait on the OP to chime in

A CEL will probably point you at the issue. For me mine did that when the OPDA started to fail. That won't be your issue but it doesn't mean it can't be a sensor issue.
