@glwood showed this to me today and it's pretty useful information. It was found here: https://sites.google.com/site/jeepchanges/

It shares similarities with this thread here: Wrangler TJ Stock Specifications

I worry that with old sites like this (especially Google hosted sites) it may just eventually disappear forever. My hope by adding it here is that we can preserve this information forever (since this site isn't going anywhere).

Anyways, good information, most of which I already knew, but helpful to others nonetheless!

@glwood showed this to me today and it's pretty useful information. It was found here: https://sites.google.com/site/jeepchanges/

I reached out to the guy who wrote it to see if he is okay with us using it, but being as though it's so old, I may not get a response.

It shares similarities with this thread here: Wrangler TJ Stock Specifications

I worry that with old sites like this (especially Google hosted sites) it may just eventually disappear forever. My hope by adding it here is that we can preserve this information forever (since this site isn't going anywhere).

Anyways, good information, most of which I already knew, but helpful to others nonetheless

Wowzer! I’m actually the original author of the list and that was my Jeep in the picture (sold a couple years ago). I never would have thought people are still finding it useful over a decade and half later.)

Fun fact: it originally was a geocities site and I migrated it to google so it wouldn’t disappear forever. Lol

Oh wow! Geocities? Man, I remember those websites from when I was first getting started with computers and the internet back in the early 90s!

It's a very helpful list, and it's one of those pieces of information that I too want to make sure never disappears!

Awesome. I first started using the geocities one a long time ago.

Hi @Chris. The line above comes from the 1999 section. What vent is this, and where it is located?

I wish I knew. I didn’t write this though and I’ve never owned a TJ older than 2003 unfortunately. Makes me wonder if this is even true.

Gotcha.

And hey, I think that the three-vent cowl was just a 97 thing, not also a 98 thing as suggested in the list.

Clearly some edits need to be made! Thanks for letting me know.

Tomb Raider fender flairs were not riveted, they were bolted with a stupidly long button head Allen bolt

I think the terminology is used generally to describe flares with exposed fasteners.

I also noticed that the first gear ratio listed for the nsg370 is incorrect.

The part about the dual top not being an option for the 2005 unlimiteds is not true:

1663162948227.png

I have both the sticker and the build sheet for mine, and both clearly show both tops (as did the seller's ad when I bought it - he was the original owner). The sticker said dual top under the options, but the build sheet just lists both tops.

On a few 99 TJ’s there is an additional plastic protector along the Centre roll bar, which makes getting a replacement roll bar cover a nightmare, does anyone know if this was on option for all, an export addition, to protect heads in back seat passengers, this plastic portion fits between the roll bar and the sound bar, feedback welcome please
