JK or JL: which one and why?

Considering trading the Explorer for a 2018/2019 wrangler.
all things the same- mileage condition and model, which one and why.
sport model on each

I would go with the JK. The earlier model JLs seemed to have a plethora of little issues.

Wait for a 2021 JL to pop up in your budget. Transmission is way better.

I’d do the JL because I like the looks more, similarly I’d probably wait for the 2021.

I need a 4 door something and have found that for a lot of cars, Toyota is similar in that you may as well buy new.

Yeah, toyota SUVs / Tacomas have always been that way, especially when there are new car financing offers. At least with those your getting a very well built vehicle.

I was looking at Sport JKUs knowing full well I'd be upgrading most things and I swear low mile ones are near 2015 msrp prices.

I'm used to full size trucks where you take a 10k hit when it drives off the lot
