When I was dating my wife, she owned a Jeep. I drove a BMW M3. Year's passed. We got married and somehow ended up with two kids, a dog, two cats, and a VW TDI Jetta. But we no longer have a Jeep or the M3. We live in a rural area north of Charlottesville, VA and out Jetta has been recalled. My wife wants her Jeep back so tomorrow I'm going to pick up a C'list find and bring it home. I'll post pics when I get it; a 97 TJ.
I've never owned a Jeep before as I'm the one who likes it all out on the straights and perfectly timed apex's. Hence the M3. But that's OK, I'm currently designing and building and open wheel formula car. Any who, my wife wants the Jeep as a back up vehicle for us that has bug out capability. Nothing fancy, just reliable, maintainable, and something we can cram the kids and dog in. She also knows I can fix and modify just about anything.
I seems like a pretty solid Jeep. It has 130K on it and new paint (commando green). The first thing I'm looking for is a rear seat with head rests, along with the appropriate restraint system for the crumb crunchers. I'm looking at the TrailMax II bench seat. Opinions? I'll search the threads. That's all for now.
