Left turn signal issue

'98 tj Sahara. Left turn signal on. Foot on brake. Signal wont blink. Foot off brake, signal blinks. Right side works like it should. Any thoughts ??

Weird stuff like that is a bad ground most of the time.

X2 to what @RaymondT said. First thing I'd be checking is ground connections.

I had the same issue and switched out the turn signal assembly for a used one. Worked fine for a year then this one started acting up in a different way. TJ Stored outside in Tahoe under a cover but water still leaks into the cab during the winter. The new issue is the blinker cylinoid starts clicking by itself without lights on the dash but if you turn the turn signal on it works normally. Yes dash lights work correct on turn signal but have been out on the 4wd since I purchased 3years ago. I thought it was the moisture inside. Any thoughts?
