Lift kit options

Don't get the MetalCloak kit (I have it), the springs and track bars (front & rear) aren't worth the money in my opinion. I've heard good things about the zone lift (combo, 3" SL + 1" BL) and for your intended purposes, it sounds like it would be a fit. Savvy is hands down the best, but it's spendy.


I'm assuming this was relocate and pitman drop arm? I'm not familiar with all the kits, but i would assume it comes with a new track bar bracket. And you do not want a dropped pitman arm.

Its not necessary at that lift height. You'll want the pivot point to be as close to the same height as your track bar bracket (frame side) as possible to prevent bump steer.

I would be running a 33 inch tire and that would be in the budget as well. What about a metal cloak 3.5 are there any complaints for that. My budget for a lift and shocks would actually be closer to 2-2.5 thousand

People are doing some strange math here with respect to your budget. $2k with tires, sure buy a $2.8k lift that doesn't come with shocks? A "bit" over budget, man, that's some good car salesman talk.

Disconnects would probably suit you just fine.

My only problem with the zone is that it dosn not come with all 8 control arms which I would like because I have 180k miles

Add currie adjustable arms to the zone 3" kit and you are are still over $1000 less than the currie kit and you get shocks too.

I agree. You could pick up the zone kit minus the arms and then just select the control arms of your choosing.

^^this. especially when you start suggesting as an aside a SYE etc. With TJ's the price rockets skywards once you go from say a 2" lift to a 3.5-4" lift as you really need to do the SYE.

For his use, why not a 2.5" OME kit with a 1.25" body lift if he wants to run 33's?
