I’d like to get in! I’m retired, free to go most anytime
Alright Y'all, Thank you for responding to the Poll, we have a few clear winning weekends that we can plan around now.
1st place was March 21st which is a Saturday with 8 votes. I say we shoot for March 21st. So put it on your calendars!
Now, Cast out some ideas on where we should go! I am down to do Charlies Creek again if y'all want, From what I have heard and seen it has gotten a bit more technical since our last trip that way. However we could always swing out towards Blairsville and do Beasley's knob OHV Area. There are other great places through out N. GA however in terms of technicality that will be in the OHV parks. Most of GA's "off roading" is GADNR maintained Forest service roads, These do have the benefit at time of being scenic. Below are some places I frequented when I resided in GA. If Anyone has some other ideas post them up!
- Forest Service Road 333 Morganton, GA
- Cashes Valley Rd Ellijay, GA (This is a public road with a private cemetery at the end, in the past you were able to go all the way to the cemetery, but the owners have since gated it. 7 Water Crossings)
- Earls Ford Rd Clayton GA. (Fun road, close to others we could do as well)
- Sarah's Creek Rd Clayton GA (Great for Camping, Close to Charlies Creek, Earls Ford Rd)
- Coleman River Rd Clayton GA
- Charlies Creek Rd/ FS 54A Clayton GA
- Forest Service Rd 64 (Near Chatsworth and Ellijay)
- Cooper Creek Rd Blairsville, Suches GA
- Turkey Gap Rd/ Popcorn Rd Clayton GA (this is a loop and last I heard it was Technical)
- Chatahooche River Rd Helen Ga (Great for fishing)
- Grassy Gap Rd, Dahlonega GA (Links up to Coopers Gap road, can take you to Camp Frank D Merril.)
