Howdy, we picked up this new to us 2006 LJ a few months ago. It will be our 16 year olds jeep when he gets his license. It is a very clean, as in no rust example with 106k miles on. Previous owner seems to have done her best but the mods are cheap and not in my taste. It has very oddly negative offset wide wheels and a cheap Rough Country lift that still uses the stock control arms. Pervious owner splashed artistic paint splatter on the instrument bezel, center stack, and glove box. I have already ordered replacement interior pieces for it. So I have a little work to do on it.

My questions, if somebody can help. I heard there was a premium package that was available on non Rubicon 05-06 LJ's. I am wondering if there is a way tell if this was one in 2006? It has paint matched fender flares that seem factory, and the grill is a bad primer. I am thinking possibly that grill had a chrome overlay on it. What I am envisioning is bringing back a chrome look with a chrome grill and chrome 15" wheels.

In the future I plan on replacing the lift with a JKS system that has adjustable control arms, and an adjustable track bar, and quick release sway bar. Different bumpers and rock sliders are in order also. Probably leave the Dana 30 on the front and just rock 33's for the time being. Opinions?

Neil

Jeep did a few special editions with wider, color-matched flares, special seats, and silver bezels around the gauge cluster and radio. What does the interior look like? Could be a Columbia Edition, Rocky Mountain Edition, anniversary edition.

You can also put your VIN in here to check out the build sheet and see just what your Jeep was built as.

Thank you, I will didn’t know I could get a build sheet from a vin. That makes it easy

You can set up an account on Mopar.com, put in your VIN and it will show you the original window sticker info. Everything it left the factory with and where it went.

I just got an 06 LJ last week. Already love it. Big step up from my 03

Hard to compare. But I’ll get this one right before the kid gets his license

YW. I learned that my LJ is still damn near stock. But with the interior condition it's really not surprising. Only has 85,000 miles on it and the interior still looks new. I was looking at a newer JK but couldn't pass this one up. Also I've had a TJ so long I can work on pretty much everything on the TJ/LJ's

My '05 LJ is equipped similarly to yours. The build sheet (linked by Jamison C above) does not mention anything like Columbia or Rocky Mountain or Anniversary Edition. But it does show things like Premium seats, Premium Appearance Group, Silver Instrument Panel Bezel, Bright Grille, and a whole bunch of options like fancy mirror, cruise, etc.

Apparently all of that was ordered as special packages or checkmarks on an order sheet by the original purchaser.

It shows "Customer Preferred Package 2TH" and "Customer Preferred Package 25H".

A pretty good list of options can be found here:
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2006/
(click See All Specs)

I've seen references to the 2TH package, but can't find a list of what it includes. Possibly the 7-speaker system and the electrochromic rearview mirror and the Sentry Key.

The 25H package includes:
$1470 INCLUDES: [CLC] Front Floor Mats; [AJB] Security Group; Speed Control; [SCL] Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel; Premium Appearance Group; Premium Fender Flares; Bright Grille; [S5**] Premium Cloth Bucket Seats

Could be a Columbia Edition, Rocky Mountain Edition, anniversary edition.
Got any pics of these editions in an LJ? They didn't make any. It's just an LJ with the hard top, color matched flares and chrome grill overlay factory options. Nothing more. I had one for a couple weeks before selling it.
