Looking for a clock spring for a 1999

I’m having issues with the stereo shutting off when turning to the right. I am guessing the clock spring is going out. I’m having a hard time finding one with Cruise control. Can I run one that was for non cruise control versions and everything else work ok. If so I’ll go that route. I removed the cruise years ago anyway. Also anyone have a good source for them

Is it the stock mopar radio or after market? The PO of my ‘99 put in a cheap CD player and it would do as your describing. I recently replaced it with a kenwood and haven’t had an issue since. I also have a broken clock spring for what it’s worth (cruise control/horn don’t work).

It is about a year old double din KENWOOD radio. And just started doing it horn works intermittent as well now

I don’t know that the clock spring effects the radio. I thought it was the air bag, horn, cruise control, and turning off the turn signals. But then again, I’m no mechanic by any means.
But...I just replaced my clockspring on my 1998. I accidentally ordered the one without the cruise control and since I didn’t realize it until I had the steering wheel pulled, I installed it anyway. It works fine, with the exception of cruise control of course.
I bought mine at summit racing. They ship incredibly fast (I ordered late Saturday night and had it on Monday. And it was free shipping) their pricing is good, and if I remember right they have the clock springs with cruise control.

I recently replaced the one in my '98 as well. This one replaces a cheap Crown unit that I installed back in 2017, which itself replaced the original. I would strongly recommend the OEM unit. This is the one I ordered and installed, and it takes a bit of time, a few weeks.

I am not sure who actually makes it-there are no markings on it stating the country of manufacture. I can state categorically that the quality of the OEM unit is much higher than that of the Crown unit. Materials are are better, the center turning component is much, much better, and the fit was much better as well. The Crown unit never really locked in on the lower clip. It connected but wasn't very secure.

Just installed a "dorman airbag clock spring" ordered off autozone and was here the next day, solved my horn issue. very easy fix all you need is an 8mm and 13/16 sockets, a screwdriver, and a steering wheel puller. Autozone also rents the steering wheel puller for free. I'm sure theres plenty of videos on youtube showing how to do it as well. Good luck!
