Looking for input on a potential TJ purchase

Your in NJ like me so your likely not going to find a Rust Free Jeep Frame. It's fine if you get it with rust just know that your eventually going to have tor repair it and put time into maintaing what you have. If your ok with that time commitment and project i say go for it. Reach your fingers in the frame holes is there is a lot of flaking like a pile of rust on the inside i would move on, if not then its your call. But I wouldn't avoid a jeep just because I see some rust on the frame. I looked at a ton when i was going to buy mine in Nj,PA,NY,DE, i have yet to see a rust free TJ in our area. It comes with the territory.

Hello - Sorry for tagging to this post, but could I get some input on THIS JEEP? I've never owned a Jeep. This Jeep does look clean in person, but any thoughts are appreciated (esp. price). TIA!

But i haven't heard good things about the 2008-2012 due to the engine and PCM problems

Had an 09 Unlimited for 12 years but recently sold it and am buying an 05 LJ. Only ever had one problem with the engine/PCM - not enough power! The 3.8L V6 in the 07-12 Wranglers was a total dog, even with the manual, but was bulletproof for me wrt repairs. Routine oil changes and that was it for 12 yrs and 75K miles. Good luck!

Hi everyone, new here and looking to buy a TJ. Had one about 15 years ago and miss it. I came across the following local to me in NJ. This would be a spare car to us right now, possibly turning into our sons first car.

1999 Sahara
4.0, 5 spd
Appears to be all stock
69k original moles
Waiting on title/vin pic to run history report.

Seller says newer top, new brake lines, regular oil changes, their mechanic said things are fine last time they had it in (whatever that’s worth). Confirmed ac is ice cold and heat hot. No dash lights.

Going to share some photos and would appreciate some input. I, of course, will see it in person, check things out, drive it, etc. before making a deal.

Body/paint looks pretty clean
Interior looks like it needs a detail
Frame has some surface rust, couple spots look a little thick.
