Walker 17197 fits perfect. It's for an Econoline van but it's the right size. It is very quiet and costs less than $30.

It's centered on one end and offset on the other exactly like the factory muffler. It's on my Jeep right now, seriously it is the same.So actually the inlet on that one is offset and the factory is centered.

The design is not directional according to walker, it's called non-reversible in the catalog because it is a direct fit part and will not fit an econoline van backwards.Here is the van muffler. Like you said, other than the wrong inlet size, inlet location, flange design, it’s great.
