So I dive into regearing my 03 Sahara, watched videos, read threads and finally jumped in. Regearing from stock 3.73 to 5.13. Rear Dana 35, got it out, disgusting mess of old oil and gasket sealer. Got it disassembled and put the new ring gear into the BBQ to heat up. Got it snugged up and thought I'd do the thread locker after it cooled down. Next day I get back into the shop and take the bolts out to put thread locker on and the ring gear came loose! It dropped a bit and I could turn it by hand. It's cold and I can take it on and off by hand. Never checked to see the fit before I heated it up. Now I have to try to get a new set sent out. I can measure about 25 thou larger from the old stock ring gear. Just waiting to get this sorted out, then another week to get shipped. I've had things like new spark plugs or pumps that were brand new dead, didn't realize that machined/expensive parts would be off.

FWIW and for whatever this means, my stock 3.73 on my front Dana 30 was a "snug" fit. No heating/cooling or hammers needed to remove it or put it back on. No play either.

That makes me feel a bit better. I bought the kit from Just Jeeps, they told me it should be fine. I'd just never heard that they could pop on easily, thought it was engineered to fit that tight.
