LPI (Liquid Propane Injection)

does anybody have any idea if there is a kit out there to convert a tj to liquid propane injection? i've seen kits for all the ford truck motors and a few european and australian kits for LS motors but i havent seen a kit for a 4.0 I6 yet. and before anybody mentions a 425 mixer i've looked at it and the liquid injection is way better all around and can increase power significantly even naturally aspirated.

Check into your local regulations on lpg tanks in the passenger compartment for on road use. I think that there are conversions available, but tank placement makes it legal for off road use only.

yeah i hadnt thought through all the logistics of it. i was just reading a hotrod article on the propane mothers chevelle and thought that it may be a novel idea to build a high compression 4.0 and run it on propane for a) more power and b) alternative fuel vehicle tax credits.

What about natural gas? Is that a possibility as well?

for sure it'd be a possibility i just dont know any of the chemical analysis of natural gas so i cant speak to the feasibility of it

CNG is a viable fuel source...for City Buses anyway. I don't know about passenger cars switching to that. I believe its mostly due to how you fill the tanks...

Here in Germany, you've got both possibilitys. CNG or LPG. But there are more gas stations with LPG than CNG ;-)
My LJ is the 2nd LPG conversion Jeep for me. These conversions are very popular because of the price for LPG :applaudit:

I've got a multipoint sequent Injection from BRC and a 90 Liter LPG tank in the place of the OEM tank. I get about 17-18 L/100 KM. The fuel ecenomy is nearly the same, but the price you pay is a lot lower!
it is dependent in which region you live and how many petrol stations nearby. In my area i pay 0,59 € per Liter for lpg at the moment and Fuel 1,36 €. So with the LPG conversion i can afford the Jeep as a daily driver

I would like to install an LPG kit for my 2002 4.0l, several people advised me against that but they do not really have any experience since they have never done an LPG installation. According to them this will result:
1 / a loss of power.
2 / the cylinder head will be damaged and therefore the engine will be dead after 2 or 3 years max.

I would like to have your opinion on the question since you already have a good experience.
Does the LPG reduce the life of a Wrangler engine ...?
Have you had any problems since you installed your LPG kit ...?
Are there any procedures to be performed when starting or during the course to preserve the engine ...?
