As penned by GS Patton in December of 1944:

O little town of Houffalize,
How still we see thee lie;
Above thy steep and battered streets
The aeroplanes still fly.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
Not any Goddamned light;
The hopes and fears of all thy years
Were blown to hell last night.

Twas the night before Christmas, And all through the trails,
Every Toyota was stranded, Their progress like snails.
They had no shovels, No rope and no winch,
No CB, no cell-phone, To get out of their pinch.
When out from a mud pit, There arose such a clatter;
All the 'wheelers came running To see what was the matter.
I saw some poor Toyota All covered in crud;
He had blown his motor trying to get free of the mud.
As he stood there I noticed His glowing red face,
And I knew in an instant He wanted out of this place.
I glanced at his roof, It was all I could see;
He pleaded for help from my winch and from me.
So I sprang to the front Of my trusty old toy,
Spooled out the winch cable, Said "Hook 'er up, boy!"
He went for a swim In the watery hell, and
I laughed as he turned brown, And started to smell.
He hooked up the cable to his buried front hook,
I put a coat on the line Like it says in the book.
I winched him out quickly, A very fast session;
And I charged him a C-note, To teach him a lesson.
I then drove my Jeep through the same mud and same muck;
No problem for me, 'Cause I had a REAL truck!
I wound down my window as I drove out of sight,

And smugly yelled…

Everybody was wearing ridiculous ugly sweaters tonight at work btw. I neglected to get a pic but we are doing Grinch costumes, super ugly sweaters, or PJs tomorrow. I'll try and get a pic. We also put in a flight plan for Santa and everybody across the nation is tied into the same system and can see it. We were the first to get it in right for once! People kept screwing with it and changing the call sign or adding their own airports which is always a fun game with unknown players across the country 😆

The type aircraft is a flight of 9 reindeer (9/RNDR) which was my contribution.

I just spent Christmas Eve riding around in the LJ with an old and dear friend who has been through some hard hard things and is doing good. He lost his 21 year old son a decade ago and turned to alcohol.

He’s ok now, we are working on riding dirt bikes soon as we can and just trying to pick up on where we were. He is a load of laughs and so bright, creative and always up to something. He is in to restoring old big bore 2 stroke dirt bikes- has an incredible KTM 550 I think now that he is starting on -in amazing stock shape. Left hand kick. A beast.

Who knows, the Jeep bug might bite him.
It buzzes around bike guys a lot.

Good stuff. Dearly love this guy.
