Riddle me this. What could be making a metal-on-metal mild scraping sound for a brief moment while accelerating or engine braking through a small section of RPM between 2300 and 3000 RPM? Sometimes two different spots in that RPM range. It is not tied to a specific gear, just a specific RPM. I need to do more testing to be sure, but I believe it does not happen in neutral - only when the engine is loaded.

Camshaft bearing?
Throwout bearing?
Idler pulley?
Other?

Please share any ideas or previous experience. Thanks!
