We had one for sale on Craigslist for a while out here in Washington state. They were asking a bit over $4,000 for it, if I recall correctly. As an AMC fan, I wouldn't mind having one. Can only imagine what getting parts for it must be like.

The V-4 got me thinking back to my time in Germany in the mid 70's. German Fords had them and they made them for Saabs. Cool design, but more costly to produce than an inline 4 and truly no power advantages (at that time), just space advantage. That freaking V-4 got me in trouble with the polizei. I had a very difficult time talking my way out of it. I had to suddenly channel my Teutonic ancestors and start speaking every word of German I knew. Thanks to Grandma Lena, I did not go to jail. The word that saved me was durchfall.

I seem to recall the SAAB Sonnet having a V-4. I may have to research the AMC V-4. Interesting...

Yes, it was a German Ford engine. I liked the old Saab 2 strokes.
