We had a officers wife cause all kinds of grief at the main gate in AK... And he got his ass reamed by the BN commander too for it... You're responsible for your dependents actions... She'd wanted the MP's at the gate to salute her even when her husband wasn't in the car. This was back in the day when you had a post decal on your windshield. Once you made senior NCO or Officer rank your rank was part of the sticker. Of course the post commanders car was given a salute any time it came through the gate.
