We were issued our ACUs and desert boots in '06 right before we left for Afghanistan.

Never made it to ACU's.... Got my Desert cams in 03 but we weren't allowed to wear them until we got to Kuwait in Feb 04.... And I was medically retired in 06...

You just missed the switch! It was definitely a love/hate with the ACUs. I did love not having to starch, iron and shine though!
