Milkshake on the oil fill cap

Stock pushrods. Mine is also low mileage and I'm the first owner. I knew I'd be within the range of the hydraulic lifters, that they've never been sludged up. So even after taking .020" out of the head gasket I am fine.

ARP head studs in most places. I outlined what I am doing in my build thread.

I read through your thread—very helpful and similar to the direction/use case of our jeep. Average capability, above average comfort, high reliability. Capable of the easy lines on the rubicon without body damage, but not a handful on the highway to where driving 600 miles in a day is exhausting.

Two questions about the roller rockers:
1. Did you have to clearance anything on the valve cover?
2. As the 1.7 ratio moves the pushrod closer to the trunion, I was wondering about pushrod clearance with the head. Assuming this is something that you would have noticed while checking pushrod length and torquing the rocker?

There was not any clearance issue on my 0331 TUPY head, but Jezza had a bit of clearance issue on his prior generation head with 1.7 rollers from another brand on his '98-ish. It only showed up at high rpms on the dyno for him. I think they were Scorpion. I've had mine to redline. There is no clearance issue on the Eddie head either. Also carried them to redline.

I did not have to clearance the valve cover, however, note that there is a bit of silver showing on the outer edges of the rocker in this photo on the front most and rear most rocker. They must just barely touch the baffle on those corners. I would probably shave a bit off those rocker corners and clean them before installation.

There is otherwise clearance under the baffle.
