Any chance the multifunction switch is user serviceable ? Can you take it apart and clean and regrease ?

I don’t think it’s user serviceable, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying.
I don’t know what’s inside it, but if I were to change mine for some reason,
I would sure try to take the old one apart without destroying it just to see what makes it tick.

that sounds like my plan, if i do i'll document it.
I had mine apart this summer to fix an issue with the fog lights coming on by themselves. It seemed clean and greasy enough that I didn't do any of that, but I filled a divot in a piece of plastic with JB weld and solved my issue.

Always curious, it's not about the cost has more to do with repairing the original part.
I hear you time i have, nobody pays me anymore, for $45.00 i could buy enough gas to run a chainsaw and log splitter to heat my house for the winter

If the new one isn't Mopar, yes. Hell, even if it is, it's more likely than not been outsourced to China and won't match the longevity of the original. If all the original needs is a little cleanup and a well understood minor repair it's a no brainer.
Last time I looked for a MFS the Mopar was $160, so ten minutes at my kitchen table was an easy call. Even at $40, I'd fix mine. If I value my time at the same price my employer does, I don't make anything close to $240 an hour and I doubt theres more than a couple people here that do.

if i had the 2003 version of the switch it would have been a no brainer. My multifunction switch doesn't do a as much as the newer version.
