My gauge cluster isn't reading

hi guys and gals
my cluster isn't reading. i have changed out the speed sensor but used the old speedo gear. would that make a difference?
i tested the cluster and all the lights work. any suggestions.
i did take the cluster out and made sure the pins were good. put it back together and still nothing? new cluster needed?

Is the speedo gear connecting with the worm gear in your transfer case? The position is adjustable.

When you say the cluster is not working; do you mean all the gauges or just the speedometer ?

Did you do the cluster test? Hold the trip button as you turn the key to the on position, you can let go after the 8’s scroll I think.

Unless the issue was present before the speedo sensor change, it sounds like you may have not seated something right during that process.
