My 2005 TJ has a problem. When I got into start it yesterday, after inserting the key which caused the instrument panel lights to come on, like the mileage, seat belt, etc., when I turned the key over to start, all the dash lights went out and the starter didn't engage, no noise, no clicking. I tested the battery voltage it read 12.8 V. I took the started to the shop and it tested defective so I put in a new starter. Hooked everything up, made sure I had good juice in the battery, hopped in the rig, inserted the key noticed the buzzer went off and the instrument panel lights lit up. After turning the key, all the lights turned off and the starter failed to engage. I thought it could be a broken ignition switch actuator after watching (2) videos by the O3djeeps guy but after trying to run a wire from the positive post down to the male spade fitting on the solenoid to which the ignition sends power to the starter, that didn't cause the starter to start. Obviously I'm grabbing straws! Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated. I live in the Seattle area if anyone knows a good electrician in the Renton area? Thanks.
