The noise.
Hopefully the video works.
Here’s some context:
• ‘98, 2.5L, automatic.
• noise is most prominent when in idle. Can hear it in 2nd gear (sounds more like a flutter or like a little piece of paper flapping). Barely hear it in 1st and do not hear it at all in 3rd.
• it’s not quite as loud as it sounds like it is on the video. It’s the same volume as the engine running normally.
• have had this noise for a while (months). Performance doesn’t seem to be affected.
• no CEL, oil pressure gauge has been good.
• fairly recent oil change (Oct. 30).
• Drive frequently (almost every day) however I’ve only put 6000kms on in 10 1/2 months.
• Hasn’t gotten worse - actually seems to have decreased slightly as it used to be constant when idling but now only happens sometimes.
Anxiety is building that it’s an engine issue. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
