Need Locker Advice for Dana 44 Rubicon Front Axle

So, on another thread I talked about the issues I am having with my factory locker in my front Rubicon Dana 44 axle. I set down the path of getting an Eaton e Locker for it. However, having talked to Eaton and a couple shops, it appears as though Eaton did not make an e Locker specific to the front Dana 44 for the TJ. They said the one they have for a Dana 44 TJ may or may not work on my front axle. Does anyone have any real-world experience regarding Dana 44 front for TJ's and Eaton e lockers and know whether this is true?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no difference between a "regular" Dana 44 and a TJ Rubicon Dana 44 as far as lockers are concerned. When deciding on an ARB locker, all you need to figure out is if you will retain the use of thick cut gears or go with the the standard carrier break with regular cut gears. RD116 vs RD117.

Basically, if you are reusing your existing thick cut gears, you use the smaller carrier (likely 3.73 and under). If you are doing a fresh setup, you can use the carrier that is appropriate for your new regular gears.

It was regeard to 5.13 last Fall. They didnt change the carrier, so should still be 3.73 and under with thick cut correct? That's what I thought, but I second-guess myself when I spoke with Eaton directly.

A lot of people get confused when it comes to the Rubicon 44 because it uses thick cut gears from the factory. Even the ARB rep did a poor job of listening and explaining when I called them.

Yeah. I spoke with 2 techs at Eaton. One was reading of notes.

I didn’t install it myself so I can’t help you on that end but I have 5.38s and an Eaton elocker front/rear on my 44s.

I ordered them via Revolution Gear and called their customer service before i ordered to make sure I picked the right elocker

The pump or a part integral to the carrier?

I recall for the pump itself that there is a Kia part that matches exactly.

Older Kia Sedona axle disconnect pump. The plug is slightly different, as I recall.
