New development in coolant leak hunt...

Hi All,

I have been chasing down a coolant leak for a bit now starting at the obvious places and checking them off the list as I go. I was scratching my head as to why I was still losing coolant at the tune of about half gallon every 2nd or 3rd time I'd drive it.

Until today. I believe I found the culprit. I hope the link to the video works or is allowed because it's worth a thousand words as they say...

By the way this is on the driver side, middle of the engine.

Either a blown head gasket or cracked head....
Hard to tell in the video...
Do you have steam coming from the exhaust while the engine is running ?

My *guess* is a cracked head. Either way, its gonna have to come off.

Thanks for the input Guys. Looks like I need to find a mechanic. Not sure that's something I can tackle. Rebuilt the engine in my 83 Monte Carlo. That was more than enough to let me know I'm not a great mechanic... ha

But that's a much smaller engine. I say GO FOR IT.
