New radio worked for 5 minutes and then crapped out

Got everything wired up real pretty. Turned it on and it was amazing! (For about 5 minutes) Then it crapped out. Now all I get is a wallowy under water type of sound from the sub woofer. Both amps have indicator lights saying they are fine. If I switch the rca outs at the head unit (JVC) they only work with the same wallowy sound. Any ideas? I think it's the head unit.

Run it without the subwoofer and see how it sounds.

No output on the front and rear channels. Have rechecked all wiring and fuses. Tried switching rca plugs in back of radio. And the sub out is not right either. All muddy and sounds like underwater. All amps have diagnostic circuits and both of them indicate they are good.

Okay, that's starting to sound to me then like you have a bad head unit.

Called Crutchfield. Explained everything and their answer was to Express ship a new head unit that afternoon. No hoops, no "is it plugged in" crap. This is why you pay an extra $1 or two. So to anyone thinking about a stereo upgrade I can't recommend these guys enough. Two thumbs up!
