New shocks

Going to replace my shocks because they are shot. Measured the coil and it seems to be 15”, but it could be 16”. Hard to get an exact measurement. Currently has Skyjacker Hydro 7000s. I received a binder from the previous owner and as you can see in the pic, he said to get 6” lift shocks but says it has a 4” lift. What am I missing and what is best route forward?

Measure the distance between the upper and lower mounts. Then find a shock with a compressed length plus half it's travel that closely matches the measurement you took.
